This private day tour includes the visit of stunning Colmar combined with private wine tastings in local wineries located in authentic medieval villages.

Visit one of the most Beautiful Small Towns of France

As you travel along the Alsace plain to reach Colmar, notice the Black Forest landscape to your left and the Alsace vineyards to your right making for great scenery. Arrive in Colmar and follow your guide on a walking tour. Described by Frommer’s as “one of the most attractive towns in Alsace”, Colmar is situated in east-central France, in a border region that was once disputed between France and Germany.

As you stroll through the small streets, visit the most significant monuments and attractions that this beautiful town has to offer. The city is renowned for its well preserved old town, its numerous architectural landmarks and its museums, among which is the Unterlinden Museum with the Isenheim Altarpiece.

Admire the “Maison des Tetes”, an outstanding German Renaissance building and to the Little Venice neighborhood where gorgeous half timbered houses are lined along the Lauch River. Other significant landmarks include the Koifhus, the Pfister house, Saint Martin church, the covered market and so much more. Colmar is also one of the gateways to the Alsace Wine Route and we also organise alsace wine tours from Colmar.

Follow the beautiful Alsace Wine Route

After some free time for personal discovery and lunch, it will be time for you to experience the Wines of Alsace. Follow the Alsace wine route and participate in a wine tasting session in authentic ‘caveau’, the local name for wineries that are located in small, typical and quaint, Alsace villages.

During this sightseeing tour, you will have the opportunity to taste many different grape varieties that are used to create Alsace wines: Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Sylvaner.

Pinot Noir can also be found in Alsace for the making of a local red wine but the whites wines are without a doubt what makes the solid reputation of quality found in Alsace wines. Please note that we have a large selection of Alsace wine tours from Strasbourg if that is what you are looking for.

Note: we can include the visit and guided tour of the Unterlinden Museum that houses world famous Isenheim Altarpiece. If you would like to include the visit of the museum you must make that particular request at time of booking. Price may vary depending on timing of the tour and entrance fees to the museum are not included. If you wish to include the entrance tickets then please also make the request at time of booking.
