Medoc's Wine & Culinary Delights: Private Tour with Blending & Pairing

Meet your English speaking local guide, expert in Bordeaux Wines
In the morning, we will come and pick you up at your Hotel or Accommodation in Bordeaux. Meet your English speaking driver / guide who is an expert on Bordeaux Wines. Once you have met your guide, he/she will go over the program and itinerary of the day with you. Then, board your comfortable, air conditioned vehicle and begin to make your way to the Medoc wine producing region.
Travel in a Premium Vehicle
Your private Bordeaux Day Trip in the medoc will take place in one of our very spacious Mercedes Minivans. This vehicle can take up to 7 persons. All our vehicles are equipped with an on board P/A system that allows you to hear the commentary of your driver/guide no matter where you are seated. Also, there is free Wi-Fi access in all vehicles. Bottled water is also available in all our vehicles.
Participate in a Wine Blending Workshop
After a short drive, arrive at the winery where you will participate in a 1 hour and a half wine blending workshop. A very large majority of Bordeaux wines are blended wines which means that winemakers assemble their premium wines by mixing different grape varieties together. The most popular grape varieties used in Bordeaux are the Cabernet Sauvignon, the Merlot and the Cabernet Franc. Other authorized grape varieties allowed for red wines include Malbec, Carmenere and Petit Verdot.
During the workshop, taste Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon seperately. As you taste these grape varieties, your host will explain the major characteristics of each varietal such as the level of the tannins, the acidity and alcohol or structure it can bring to the wines. You will also be talking about flavors and aromas. Once your commented tasting of the different grape varieties is over, it is now time for you to create your own wine. Guided by an expert hand, blend the different grape varieties so as to produce the wine that you like!
Winery visit, wine tasting & delicious picnic lunch in a Park or Garden of a Château
After your wine blending workshop, we will take you along the Château Route of the Médoc to your next stop. Upon arrival, visit of the Winery so as to understand the wine making process from the vines to the wine. After your visit, it will be time to taste 3 wines of the Château during a commented wine tasting session. After the tasting, take some time to eat & relax in the beautiful grounds of the winery in the park or garden. Your picnic lunch is prepared with care and includes cold meats, cheese, vegetables and fruits of the season, macaroons, baguette, wine, water coffee or tea.
Wine & Chocolate Pairing Workshop
After your picnic lunch at the Château, it will be time to continue your day and arrive at our final visit. Discover the final winery of the day located in the Margaux appellation. After a short visit of the winery, a Grand Cru Classé of 1855, participate in a gourmet experience that will have you discover the common aromas between the wines of the Château and Chocolate.
