The history of the Lemaire family begins in Hautvillers towards the end of the 19th century, the cradle of champagne in which a family tradition was born. A gardener and poet, Mr. Désiré Lemaire, bought the first lands of what will become today the domain of the Maison Roger-Constant Lemaire.
Indeed, it was his grandson, Roger-Constant, who understood the importance of blending raisins according to their origin in order to create a quality champagne. In 1945, he doubled the area of the estate and moved the epicenter of the family to Villers-sous-Chatillon.
Brigitte Lemaire, Roger-Constant's daughter, married Gilles Tournant who revealed himself as a very talented young winemaker, and together they continued to perpetuate the family tradition with their children Sébastien and Guillaume. Their credo is the production of exceptional champagne, using rare and exceptional vinification methods, more ecological methods.
The estate now extends to 12 hectares, the family exports its production throughout the world under the name of Roger-Constant Lemaire. The family is proud of its commitment to ecology through its investments in the purchase of organic seaweed to fertilize its vines. The raisins are selected and harvested by hand, only the first press is used to make the champagne. There, you will enjoy a guided visit and taste 4 glasses of different champagne.
