More information about Pic Saint Loup Vineyard
The Pic Saint-Loup wine growing region extends from the first Cévennes foothills in the Garrigues area north of Montpellier and about 30 kms from the Mediterranean coast. Anchored in a landscape shaped by the natural and legendary sculptures of Pic Saint Loup and Causse de l'Hortus, this little piece of Languedoc has all the advantages of a great terroir.
The main grape varieties that are used here include Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre that are common grapes used in the Languedoc wine producing region. Originally Grenache used to be the main grape but today Syrah has replaced it. This particular grape variety has found its terroir of predilection in Pic Saint Loup.
The wines of Pic Saint Loup include red and rosé wines. 90% of the production is red wine that benefits from the aromatic freshness of the garrigue, with notes of thyme, bay leaves, rosemary, cade, menthol, associated with aromas of red and black berries. The finesse of the tannins and the freshness offer balanced and elegant wines.
